Center of Refuge will host its third annual S.O.S. (Saving Our Sons) event on Saturday at 3 p.m. at Carver Gym, 410 Mercer Ave. and on Sunday at 3 p.m. at the church at 2405 Lily Pond Road. “The Celebration of Life Service for Jimmy Teemer Jr.” will be held to stand up against violence among our nation’s youth. Honored guests will be on hand from various churches, the Dougherty County school and local judicial systems, civic organizations, and local businesses. This event highlights the S.O.S. and H.O.T.S. projects, which focus on the survival of our young people. A special tribute will be rendered by C.O.R.’s youth through song and dance.
