The Journal's decision to stop covering the City Government and to stop publishing investigative reporting across the board in favor of opinion pieces, front page obituaries, stale "news" that can be found anywhere, and innumerable "feel good" pieces about Philip Phillips, has deprived the community of the ONLY source of news about what is actually going on here. Where has the Journal been regarding the major upheaval at the APD over the past several weeks? Does the Journal really believe that a tiny item in a gossip column is sufficient coverage of a pattern of MAJOR wrongdoing by a senior police officer? How many senior police personnel have been accused of sexual harrasment by junior officers? What else is going on at the APD?

Has anyone from the Journal gone to the Courthouse in the wake of the Herald article about deadbeat City Commissioner Christopher Pike -- and discovered that what the Herald reported is really misleading and only the tip of the iceberg? What about the school lunch scandal? Has anyone from the Herald investigated and learned that, in fact, school lunch fraud is pervasive throughout the DCSS?

Journal, WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN THESE PAST SEVERAL MONTHS? PLEASE COME BACK! THIS COMMUNITY NEEDS YOU!
