10/16/2011 (ALBANY) – The Darton College Cavaliers slayed Region XVII rival Andrew College, 11-1, Sunday, to finish off their last home game of the 2011 season.
Diego Ramos headed the way, scoring once and assisting five. Ramos leads the NJCAA in assists (25).
“It was a nice win to start the last week of the regular season,” Head Coach Bart Sasnett said.
Sasnett is scheduled to take his team to Cochran to face Middle Georgia on Wednesday. The Cavaliers will take on Gordon College in an away game on Friday to close the regular season.
The Region XVII Championship, hosted by Georgia Perimeter College, begins Oct. 29, in Dunwoody.
Darton College was never beaten at home in the 2011 season. Sasnett’s sophomore class, with 31 wins (thus far) over the 2010 and 2011 seasons, is the most winning sophomore class in the history of the program, he said.
