Mega Millions bumped from $304M to $312M

ATLANTA – As a result of brisk ticket sales, lottery officials announced today that the Mega Millions jackpot has been bumped from $304 million to $312 MILLION for Friday’s drawing.

Mega Millions tickets are $1 per play. For an additional $1 per play, players can select the Megaplier option for a chance to increase prizes.

Any lucky player who matches all five white ball numbers, along with the Mega Ball number, could win approximately $12 million a year for 26 years with the annuity option. Or a player could select the cash option and win a single payment worth approximately $198 million.

As with all other Georgia Lottery games, proceeds from Mega Millions will benefit education in the state of Georgia.

Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corp. has returned more than $12.3 billion to the state of Georgia for education. All Georgia Lottery profits go to pay for specific educational programs, including Georgia’s HOPE Scholarship Program and Georgia’s Pre-K Program. More than 1.3 million students have received HOPE, and more than 1.1 million 4-year-olds have attended the statewide, voluntary prekindergarten program.
