Like Younger before him, Lott claims ‘racism’

7 Comments 15 March 2009

Regarding a comment under my recent “Exposed” post about whether Albany City Manager Alfred Lott already knew or is related to former Police Chief James Younger …

I don’t think so.

I finally asked Lott about it today, and he said “no,” and I believe him. He said a “Lott” more, and — like Younger before him — even played a race card. Instead of defending or denying our reporting on the criminalization of city hall under his reign, he suggests that we target black men when we are writing about public officials-gone-bad. See our e-mail exchange in the March 18 edition of The Journal!

Last year, Younger suggested that City Commissioner Morris Gurr and other detractors were so-motivated because they are racist.

I honestly believe that Lott is in total retaliation against Davis, he is definetly hitting below the belt and should be seen for the person he is , just because someone carries a gun or knife does not mean he is out to kill or mame . where did you grow up Lott? in china? you appear to be a modern day witch hunter fueled by racism..

  2. Commissioner — Thanks for participating. The Journal exposes government corruption (which you are either involved in or complicit with), doesn’t hide behind anonymous comments like you, and liberally allows the community (including you) space in the paper to share information and analysis. All the while, most of our space is devoted to promoting the great people and great activities in our community.

What are the complainers doing to change things in Albany? One step further: What is Hogencamp doing to change Albany? Producing a paper which the majority of the time only seeks to find out what is wrong with local government versus what is right, is not doing anything. Why don’t some of you complainers run for office? You have this big Tax Payer Association and only one was brave enough to run for a vacant commission seat and even he backed out at the last minute. Give me a break! Put up or shut up.

I get so tired of hearing the race Bull Crap. There’s only one RACE in this whole world.Thats the Human Race. When you dont do your job, dont try that race bull. And it is so like Lott.We have wonderfull people in Albany,of all race’s.Its just when you get cought in lies and decit, you have to blame someone or something. So here we go again.Admit it Lot,you re just no good at your job.And just let that be it.You in Goverment are the ones who cause the race problems here, and you do it on purpose,so you’ll turn people against one another. But what you are not seeing,is alot of people are seeing you for what you are.And you know it will all come back to you.No one has to do anything, you,as i have only one Judge, the Good Lord.He see all,and knows all.And when judgement day come i really pray for you.You have hurt alot of people in this town, and people of your own race. And they know this now.So dont even go there.Stop trying to devide this city.I even have a better idea, why not just leave it if you dont like it so much.

Question – how can you “target” a race under Lott’s administration when Lott only employs one race?

I totally agree with Jimmy Mills statement about you not being racist, although I haven’t known you that long. Amazing that when things get tough, how many fall back to the race card.

  7. Jimmy Mills says:

Kevin, I’ve known you for at least 30 years. Whatever the opposite of a racist is, that’s what you are. You all have some idiots in charge of things in Albany, huh?
