“I would like to thank Dr. Kendall Blanchard and Cody King for the opportunity to serve our university in this new capacity,” Tracy said. “I am excited to see what the future holds for GSW as well as our department and look forward to working with our officers and the campus community.”

“Mike Tracy has a proven track record as a leader, highly dependable colleague, and responsible professional,” said President Kendall Blanchard. “I appreciate the fact that he understands policing as well as the unique role of public safety on a university campus. His primary focus has always been to protect our students. I look forward to working with him in his new position.”

“We were fortunate to have someone with so much university police experience apply for this position,” said Cody King, vice president of Business and Finance. “Well established in the Americus community and well respected by local law enforcement, Director Tracy wants to intensify our efforts of having a highly trained and efficient public safety department.”

Tracy’s holds Georgia Police Officer Standards and Training (POST) certification and is POST certified as a general instructor and as a firearms instructor. Since 2011, he has worked as an instructor at South Georgia Technical College’s Criminal Justice Department, and he served in the same role at Columbus State University from 1993 to 2001.
