Albany – Today’s story comes to us anonymously, with the location also withheld.  Often, people think of bullies as being male.  However, girls can be just as cruel and, in some cases, even meaner.

I didn’t want to write on your pages because I daughter doesn’t want our names to be giving. However you are free to use her story.

My daughter is 15. For a year now she has been bullied at school. Names being called, the girl would walk by my daughter and push her. It was all just a mess. I found out about it when my daughter started to act different. She went into a deep depression. Started cutting here self and started saying we wanted to die. Once she told me I went straight to the school. Nothing was said or done.

I ended up pulling her out of that school. She now sees a therapist and is getting the help she needs. I believe more laws should be in place for bullies.

Far too often, kids with otherwise normal lives, are being thrust into therapy to deal with the trauma of being a bullying victim. Please, if you have a story to share, please email us at ajournal@thealbanyjournal.com and let us know.
