Dr. Joel Johnson, assistant professor of music industry and modern guitar, traveled abroad as the guitarist and music director for neo-soul artist, Cody ChesnuTT.

“I enjoy being able to travel and come back and share with my students,” Johnson said. “As a college professor, it’s amazing to have an opportunity to demonstrate those things you are teaching about,” said Johnson.

For more than 20 years, the Orlando, Fla. native has performed all over the globe with artists such as Dr. John, Sarah Morrow, Kenny Garrett, and The Drifters.

This spring, Johnson will offer guitar lessons to ASU students, faculty and staff.
