Leesburg -Bullying happens everywhere, even in such well respected schools as the Lee County School System. Today’s story comes from the friend of a family that allegedly experienced a horrific event.
The mother got a call from the school stating her daughter had been in the nurses office because another girl tried CHOKING her. The ironic thing is that they were in the gym for a good behavior party. Some words were exchanged and the girl walked away like she was supposed to and the other girl came up behind her and started choking her.
This is not the first offense for this girl. And this girl has been picking on the girl since fifth grade. While the child was in the principal’s office the girl stated that she has been trying to get her hands on her since the fifth grade. To me that is showing signs of true hatred. Another girl had also been bullying the girl that got choked and clawed her neck a while back.
The only thing that has been done so far is the girl got suspended for three days. The mother is wanting to press charges against the girl. But the scary part is that they also ride the same bus. The mother is terrified that something else will happen to her child once the child gets off suspension. What are the steps the mother needs to take in order for this tostop?
While it’s important to note that Lee County did punish the attacker, there is still fear present for the girl. This takes bullying beyond a simple war of words, or the odd physical altercation, and creates psychological damage that can last well beyond school.
