Buddy Basketball: For Youth with Disabilities

Albany, Georgia : The Albany Recreation and Parks Department and Albany Area YMCA present “Buddy Basketball” for youth with disabilities. Join us on Monday afternoons for basketball! Participants will be paired with a buddy to work on the skills of basketball and team play.

Registration will be held January 2 – 23 at the ARPD office at 1301 N. Monroe (in Tift Park), Monday – Friday from 8:30 am – 5:00 pm. The fee is $15 per child, which includes a t-shirt. Age groups for Buddy Basketball are 6-12 and 13-21 years old.

Basketball will be played at the YMCA on Mondays at 4:30 pm – 5:30 pm from January 27 – March 3 (6 weeks). Volunteers are also needed to be a “buddy” to a child with disabilities. Registration forms must be submitted in person to the ARPD office; bring your student ID or driver’s license with you.
