SENS. SIMS, TIPPINS, CROSBY AND BURKE TO HOLD EDUCATIONAL SUMMIT

ATLANTA (Oct. 29, 2013) –Sens. Freddie Powell Sims (D-Dawson), Lindsey Tippins (R-Marietta) John Crosby (R-Tifton) and Dean Burke (R-Bainbridge) will hold an educational summit,Thursday, November 7, 2013, to discuss the educational challenges facing Southwest Georgians.

The summit, entitled The Future of Public Education in Southwest Georgia: The Role of Parents, Students, Schools, Community, and the Statewill be held at the Darton State College Auditorium.

Sen. Sims and Sen. Burke are both members of the Senate Education Committee, which is chaired by Sen. Tippins.  Parents and students are encouraged to attend and take part in this important discussion.  

WHAT:        Southwest Georgia Educational Summit

WHEN:        Thursday, November 7 at 6 p.m. Public Forum

4:15 p.m. – 5:30 p.m. Meet with School Board Members

3:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. Meet with Southwest Georgia Superintendents

WHERE:     Darton State College Student Center and Auditorium
