Special to the Journal

ALBANY, Ga.- For the first time, Watson Spence is participating in No-Shave November. Some might think it is just an excuse to grow a beard, but No-Shave November stands for a more important cause.

The goal of No-Shave November is to raise cancer awareness by growing hair for an entire month, which many cancer patients lose during treatment. Cancer is the second leading cause of death in the United States, and the men participating in No-shave November have all had someone close to them personally impacted by the disease.

Attorneys Chris Cohilas, Joe Dent, Faison Middleton, Bo Plowden and Chuck Wainright have all put away their razors to raise awareness. The idea behind their beards is specifically to raise awareness of prostate cancer.

Collectively, they are donating $1000.00 to Lights of Love in honor of Dr. Chuck Mendenhall and his years of treating prostate cancer in Albany. They hope their donation can help aid those battling cancer in our community.
