MELBOURNE, Fla. – The Darton State College Lady Cavaliers will enter the NJCAA D-1 Women’s Soccer Championship Tournament on Monday against No. 9 Owens Community College in Melbourne, Fla., as announced today by tournament hosts Eastern Florida State College.
Kickoff is scheduled for 4 p.m., and NJCAA TV will produce live webcasts of all tournament games. Darton will play again on Wednesday, Nov. 20, against No. 5 Butler Community College.
The Lady Cavs, now 20-1, enter the tournament as the No. 4 seed and with a 12-game winning streak. Owens CC is 17-2 and won its past 15 matches, including the Toledo, Ohio-based program’s first Region XII Championship title.
Pool play among the nation’s 12 qualifiers extends Monday through Wednesday, with semi-finals Friday at 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. The national championship final is scheduled for 7 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 23.
Darton kicks off with Butler at 4 p.m., Wednesday. Butler is 21-2 overall and with a 14-game winning streak enters the tournament Tuesday against Owens Community College.
