In their final collegiate game, Jillian Anderson and Ashley Johnson each recorded 12 kills, but the Albany State Lady Rams lost to the Clark Atlanta Lady Panthers 3-2 in the loser’s bracket of the 2013 SIAC Women’s Volleyball Championship Tournament. With the loss, ASU finishes the season with a 17-13 record.

The tournament loss also marks the first time in 13 years the Lady Rams have not made the championship game.

After dropping the first game 25-11, Albany State made a comeback and won Game 2 25-20. Clark Atlanta took a 2-1 lead with 25-21 win in the third game, only see the Lady Rams take the fourth set 25-20 to set up the pivotal Game 5.

Clark Atlanta was able to escape the final set with a 15-10 win over an ASU team that was playing without the services of right hitter Jennifer Evans. Evans went down with a knee injury earlier in the day in the match against Kentucky State.

Freshman Kristen Randolph added 12 kills and seven digs for Albany State. Nicole Lamb had eight kills and five blocks. Setter Amanda Cook recorded a double-double with 41 assists and 16 digs.

Kaliah Carter led the Lady Rams defensively with a team-high 24 digs. Jonson had 20 digs and Kiara Thompson added 13 more.
