Senior Jillian Anderson recorded 11 kills in only two games to lead the Albany State Lady Rams past the LeMoyne–Owen Lady Magicians 3-0 in the first round of the 2013 SIAC Women’s Volleyball Championship Tournament. With the victory, the Lady Rams, the second seed from the East Division, advance to the quarterfinal round to face West Division champion Kentucky State. That match is slated for Thursday, November 21st at 12 p.m. in the ASU HPER Gym.

Albany State showed that they were tournament ready by making short work of LOC. After being tied at four early in the first game, the Lady Rams went on a huge run and pounded the Lady Magicians 25-12 in the first game.

In Game 2, Albany State refused to allow LOC into contention. ASU scored often and made solid defensive plays to dismantle the Lady Magicians 25-8.

With the Albany State reserves logging most of the playing time in the third game, the Lady Rams won 25-15.

Ashley Johnson added eight kills, and Jennifer Evans had five more for Albany State. Setter Amanda Cook recorded 36 assists, while Kaliah Carter led the team defensively with 12 digs.
