MACON – Georgia Women of Achievement will honor three new inductees at the 23rd annual Georgia Women of Achievement’s
Induction Ceremony. The induction ceremony will be held Thursday, March 13, 2014 at Wesleyan College in Macon, Georgia
and honors women in Georgia who have made significant contributions in their chosen field of endeavor.
Rebecca Stiles Taylor (1879 – 1958), Ella Gertrude Clanton Thomas (1834 – 1907), and Bazoline Estelle Usher (1885 – 1992)
will each be honored and inducted during the Georgia Women of Achievement’s annual induction ceremony. They will join 76
other women who have been previously honored by Georgia Women of Achievement. Teya Ryan, President and Executive Director
of Georgia Public Broadcasting will serve as this year’s keynote speaker for the ceremony.
Georgia Women of Achievement’s purpose is to honor women in Georgia’s history who have made outstanding contributions to the
State of Georgia and who serve as an inspiration to present day Georgians. Each year, during Women’s History Month, in March,
up to three qualified women are added to the Georgia Women of Achievement Hall of Fame at the induction ceremony.
