ALBANY – The Darton State College Lady Cavaliers shutout Georgia Military College, 5-0, Wednesday, in a Region 17 matchup.

Forward Lyana Perez scored twice to continue to lead the Region in total points, 57, and goals, 24.

Midfielder Megan Thomas had a big game as well. The sophomore scored two goals and assisted a goal to Eleana Colvin.

The Lady Cavalier defense allowed only a single shot onto their goal, which ‘keeper Tori Danchek easily saved.

It was the 10th shutout of the season, pushing Darton to 12-1 overall and 9-1 in Region play.

The one blemish on Darton’s otherwise undefeated scheduled came from conference-rival Georgia Perimeter College in a 2-0 defeat at home. The No. 8-ranked Lady Cavaliers have an opportunity for retribution, Friday, near Atlanta.

Darton will kick-off with the undefeated Lady Jaguars at 3 p.m., at GPC’s Clarkston campus. The Lady Jags are 10-0 and ranked No. 5 in the NJCAA.
