Lady Cavs Break Into the Top Five

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The Lady Cavaliers moved up to No. 5 in the lated national poll, released by the NJCAA national office today.

Darton improved from a No. 8 ranking last week.

Georgia Perimeter College previously held the fifth spot, however the Lady Cavs beat them in a grueling 1-0 overtime victory, Friday, and it appears the two powerhouse programs exchanged positions as Perimeter fell to 8th.

With 12 shutouts so far, Darton is 15-1-0 overall and 10-1 in conference play. Forward Lyana Perez is leading the conference in goals (28) and points (65), while teammate Chevelle Lopez leads in assists (12).

Defensively, ‘keeper Hong Tran has allowed an average of .64 goals per game.

Darton plays tomorrow at Middle Georgia College at 4 p.m.
