ALBANY—The Georgia Department of Transportation announces lane closures on Slappey Boulevard and Oglethorpe Boulevard beginning Sunday, October 13, 2013. GDOT will be resurfacing these roads overnight to reduce the impact on motorists. The work will occur between 7 p.m. and 7 a.m. starting October 13, 2013 for preliminary work on the road which involves lowering manholes.
Weather permitting, Sunday, October 20, 2013, GDOT will begin milling and resurfacing the road in sections starting on North Slappey Boulevard and turning onto West Oglethorpe Boulevard. Work will be done in these areas Sunday nights through Thursday nights. The resurfacing is expected to be completed before the end of the year. One lane will be closed for up to two miles at a time which may cause overnight travel delays.
Motorists are requested to be patient, drive slowly, and exercise extreme caution in this work zone.
