Special to the Journal
The Kattalistt Creative Group is hosting its third Pecha Kucha Night tomorrow evening in the
Artpark on Pine. This event will be in concert with events in 133 cities worldwide, all joining together for
a Pecha Kucha Global Night.
The Kattalistt Creative Group is a Not‐for‐Profit entity that is interested in building up our city
and our people. We are volunteer oriented with a crowd driven, open source mentality. These ideals
allow us to rise to new roles as the community needs. We have hosted river cleanups, organized local
events, volunteered in the community, and collaborated with local organizers to build some of Albany’s
new premier events. We are partnering with volunteers, businesses, and organizations to build the
morale and reputation of our city on a local, state, national, and global scale. #ChangeInto AnIdea
Pecha Kucha is an event marketed by an architecture firm located in Tokyo called Klein Dytham.
10 years ago they designed the Pecha Kucha Presentation format, 20 x 20. Each speaker chooses 20
slides which are displayed for 20 seconds each giving the speaker 6 minutes and 40 seconds to speak
about their topic. The point of this rapid fire presentation style is to keep the event high in energy and to
give every speaker the same treatment regardless of topic or level of expertise.
The Kattalistt Creative Group has organized 12 speakers for our event Friday. We are hoping to
have a good crowd in the Artpark to support an event series that is putting Albany on the global radar in
a positive light. All of our presentations will be recorded and sent back to Klein Dytham to be listed on
their website www.pechakucha.org.
