ALBANY – Sophomore team captain Jorge Chirinos beat two Middle Georgia Warriors and pushed a perfect through ball to teammate Darwin Espinal whose last minute strike put end to an agonizing 89 minutes of scoreless soccer.

Sophomore midfielder and team captain Jorge Chirinos leads the NJCAA in assists, with seven in only five games.

Espinal’s goal Thursday – his 11th in five games – gave the Cavaliers their fourth win and improved Darton to 2-0 in conference play. It also helped secure his position as the NJCAA’s leading goal-scorer and Chirinos’ role as the nation’s leader in assists.

The No. 6-ranked Cavaliers will continue their conference schedule as they travel to Columbus, on Sunday, where they will play Georgia Military College.
