The Albany State Department of Athletics and Cumulus Media, Inc. of Albany have reached an agreement to have the ASU football games broadcasted for the 2013 season. The games will be played on the company’s V101.7 R&B station.

“We are pleased to be partnering with a new affiliate to broadcast our football games”, said Dr. Richard H. Williams, ASU Director of Athletics. “I am positive the Ram Nation will receive this new initiative with excitement and support. We ask that you tune in to hear our great radio broadcasting team and enjoy our action-packed football games.”

For Cumulus Media, it presents an opportunity for the company to make a connection with the area’s premier university.

“We thank God for the opportunity to partner with our beloved Albany State University,” said David Milliner, Culumus Media Sale Representative. “It is with great pleasure that we connect this fine institution and with our company Cumulus Media so that the “Good Life City” of Albany and Southwest Georgia can share these great moments.”

The ASU radio broadcast team will still consist of Fred “Freddie Fresh” Suttles, Norman “Norm-Ski” Newton and “The Coach” Jesse Massey.

The Golden Rams will travel to Traveler’s Rest, South Carolina to battle North Greenville University on Saturday. Game time is slated 7 p.m. The pre-game show will begin on V101.7 at 6:30 p.m.
