Atlanta, GA – The Young Republicans National Federation (YRNF) elected officers during their bi-annual convention held in Mobile, Alabama this year. Among those chosen were two Georgia Young Republicans, Meagan Myers Hanson, Chairwoman of the Georgia Young Republicans (GYR), and Christopher Sanders, President of the Atlanta Young Republicans. Meagan was elected the Chair of the State Chairmen’s Association (SCA), a group comprised of the chairmen from every state federation. As SCA Chair, she will sit on the YRNF Executive Board as the voice of all the YR State Chairs. Christopher was appointed by newly-elected YRNF Chairman Jason Weingartner to the role of Deputy Executive Director of the YRNF and tasked with developing initiatives to help elect more young republicans across the nation.

Meagan is serving in her second term as Chairman of the Georgia Young Republicans. In her first term, the GYRs made over 35,000 voter contacts across Georgia through grassroots efforts from Rome to Augusta, Savannah to Atlanta. Prior to being elected Chairwoman, Meagan previously served as the Treasurer of the Georgia Young Republicans and is a member of the Atlanta Young Republicans. “I am excited to take on the challenge of Chair of the State Chairmen’s Association of the YRNF. There is a lot we can do to make this organization stronger which will in turn, make our state federations stronger as well.”

In addition to his new duties with the YRNF and his leadership of the Atlanta Young Republicans, Christopher also serves as Executive Director of the Georgia Young Republicans. Prior to these positions, Christopher also served as Executive Vice President and began his leadership journey as Vice President of Political Affairs for the Atlanta Young Republicans. “It was an honor being appointed to the Deputy Executive Director for the YRNF. I look forward to serving this administration as we continue the fight to get the country back on the right track,” said Sanders.

The convention hosted over 300 participants from 30 states.
