ATLANTA – The Powerball jackpot has advanced to an estimated $142 million to a single annuity winner for Saturday’s drawing. The impressive jackpot has spurred excitement in Georgia.
The jackpot has grown since Aug. 10 and has rolled six times.
Four Georgia Lottery players have won large prizes playing Powerball from the Aug. 28 drawing. A winning ticket worth $1 million was sold in Roswell, and three winning tickets worth $10,000 were sold in Jonesboro, Atlanta and Roswell.
Powerball offers two jackpot payment options: the $142 million annuity prize paid over 29 years in 30 graduated payments; or the cash option, which is approximately $78 million.
Powerball tickets are $2 per play. Players can add the Power Play feature for an additional $1 per play to multiply non-jackpot prize winnings.
As with all other Georgia Lottery games, proceeds from Powerball will benefit education in the state of Georgia.
