The Albany Area YMCA plans to kick off the back-to-school season with free soccer clinics for kids. “When school starts, everyone begins thinking about fall sports,” says Trey Searles, Director of Sports and PE at the Albany Area YMCA, “and the biggest fall sport at the YMCA is soccer.”

Clinics will be held on Saturday, August 10 from 9 a.m. – 11 a.m. at the Central Facility YMCA, 1701 Gillionville Road, and also at the Lee Branch YMCA, 316 Robert B. Lee Drive in Leesburg. The clinics will feature fun instructional activities and provide information about the YMCA Youth Soccer and Itty Bitty Soccer programs. In addition to learning soccer techniques, participants will be eligible for door prizes and parents will have the opportunity to register early for Fall Soccer and Itty Bitty Soccer. Registration for the general public is August 12-25.

YMCA Youth Soccer is for boys and girls ages 4-13. Itty Bitty Soccer is a parent/child program which provides a fun introduction to soccer for boys and girls ages 2 & 3. Participants can choose between two practice sites for soccer – the YMCA Sports Park or Lee Branch YMCA. Call the YMCA at 229-436-0531 or 229-759-9770 for more information about soccer or the free soccer clinics.
