Chehaw’s Park Authority and staff met recently during a strategic planning retreat to proactively plan for Chehaw’s future success. “We have been working with a professional, certified strategic planner from the Carl Vinson Institute of Government,” said Executive Director, Doug Porter, “to outline an action plan for the future. We have already held one planning session and identified several immediate priorities.
This strategic planning process will consider methods that quantitatively evaluate Chehaw’s community impact in the future. Recognizing the importance of expanding and diversifying Chehaw’s revenue, the CPA and staff will be holding a second strategic planning session to focus exclusively on developing a specific strategy and implementation plan to accomplish this key goal.
“The Chehaw Park Authority has undertaken this proactive planning effort to ensure that Chehaw remains an accessible, affordable, unique experience for the residents of Albany, Dougherty County, and the Southwest Georgia region,” explains CPA Chairman, Scott Kemp. “Ensuring Chehaw’s successful future is the primary goal of the Authority and its management team.
