Ruben Douglas Edmunds, 70, of Albany, GA, died Friday, July 5, 2013 at Gentiva Hospice Unit at Emory University Hospital, Atlanta, GA. A private ceremony for immediate family will be held at a later date.
A native of Bainbridge, GA, Mr. Edmunds was retired having last worked at American General Life Insurance Co. He was a veteran having served in the U.S. Air Force and was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Colquitt, GA.
Survivors include four brothers, Clarence Edmunds (Joyce), Worth Co., GA, James R. Edmunds (Genita), Albany, GA, Gerald L. Edmunds (Karen), Aiken, SC, George H. Edmunds (Karen), Raytown, Mo, a sister, Janice M. Edmunds, Albany, GA and numerous nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents, Demp and Eva K. Edmunds and an older brother, Eugene Edmunds.
Doug’s greatest accomplishment was his devotion to his family. He was a kind giving man who always made time for others and was happy to share in any way he could. We give thanks to God for the gift of knowing and loving this wonderful man and for the time we got to spend with him. We are all better for having known him.
