LUBBOCK, TEXAS – The Darton State College Cavaliers will try to put it all together for a national title at the NJCAA D-1 Golf National Championship Tournament at Rawls Golf Course at Texas Tech in Lubbock, Texas.

In the latest polls, the Cavaliers are regarded as the No. 9 team in the NJCAA after a 2012-2013 season that’s had its ups and downs, but Darton head golf coach Bill Jones said his Cavaliers are ready to compete.

“Although we are not favorites heading into Texas, our guys have been playing well this week and working very hard to prepare for the tournament,” he said before leaving Albany, Friday. “I expect us to be competitive, and if we play to our potential we’ll have no problem competing with the best teams in the country.

“I’m looking forward to the trip, as are the guys, it will be a great experience for them all.”

The tournament begins Tuesday and runs through Friday.
