South Georgia enjoyed another proud moment Sunday night when Leesburg’s Luke Bryan was named Entertainer of the year by the Academy of Country Music.
The 36-year-old musician also co-hosted the star-studded event.
Luke’s talent is only overshadowed by his humbleness.
In an age of self-absorbed celebrities, Luke Bryan is the real deal.
He’s proud of his roots here in South Georgia, and we are proud to call him one of our own.
We congratulate Luke and his family for a job well done!
Just goes to show, whether you come from a small town or a big city, anyone can accomplish his dreams.
An exciting event is planned for tomorrow night in Albany that will help make a life-changing difference for a girl.
Girls, Inc. will host Wine Market… Albany’s premier wine tasting event…and it’s a chance for all of us to support an organization that’s doing great work.
100% of Girls, Inc. girls graduate from high school and most are first- generation college students.
And while the teen pregnancy rate in Dougherty County is 48%, it’s only been 2% among girls at Girls, Inc.
Girls, Inc. was recently honored as a White House Champion of Change for its work in substance abuse prevention and was named the 2012 Nonprofit of the year by the Albany Chamber of Commerce.
We congratulate this organization and hope that you’ll show your thanks by supporting tomorrow night’s event at Stonebridge Golf and Country Club.
You can be a part of making that life-changing difference for a girl!
