TIFTON, Ga – After 14 innings the Darton State College Cavaliers fell to ABAC, 7-6, in the final of a four-game conference series, today.

Darton almost had it – and Davis Adkins was closing out the ninth inning with a 4-2 lead when disaster struck and the Fillies tied the game 4-4.

The Cavaliers went up in the 10th by a run and in the 11th by two runs, but they couldn’t close either out.

The loss was Darton’s third to ABAC in the series. They split a doubleheader Saturday and encountered their first at-home loss, Tuesday, to ABAC in Albany.

But, the Cavaliers are still at the top of the conference with a 16-4 GCAA record. They’re 29-8 overall.

Darton’s break from its conference schedule against Chipola later today has been cancelled. The Cavs will next see action against Thomas University, Wednesday, at 4 p.m.
