MicroPlanet Opening at Flint RiverQuarium Imagination Theater

MicroPlanet, a new film by Emmy-nominated filmmaker Michael Watchulonis, opens Monday, April 1, at the Flint RiverQuarium Imagination Theater. A portion of the movie was filmed last summer at the Flint RiverQuarium.

Stunning macro filmmaking takes viewers on an unforgettable journey from lake bottom battles for territory to lovelorn toads searching for a mate to lizards prowling the forest for a meal. Meet the thieves, assassins, and gentle souls alike that inhabit Georgia’s lakes and forests. This groundbreaking film explores secret worlds and tiny kingdoms that thrive without us…even in spite of us.

MicroPlanet joins two other films by Michael Watchulonis currently showing at the Imagination Theater: Fire Ants: The Invincible Army and Alligator Kingdom. MicroPlanet will show in all time slots on Monday, April 1. Thereafter, the schedule will be as follows:


1:15 – Alligator Kingdom

2:30 – MicroPlanet

3:30 – Fire Ants: The Invincible Army


10:15 – Alligator Kingdom

11:15 – MicroPlanet

1:15 – Alligator Kingdom

2:30 – Fire Ants: The Invincible Army

3:30 – MicroPlanet

The Flint RiverQuarium is southwest Georgia’s premier aquarium, featuring more than 1,000 animals that call the Flint River watershed home. The Flint RiverQuarium is located at 101 Pine Avenue in downtown Albany, Georgia. Regular operating hours are Tuesday- Saturday 10 a.m.-5 p.m. and Sunday 1 p.m.-5 p.m.
