Special to the Journal
Albany, Ga –
The Cancer Coalition of South Georgia presents RIDEforHOPE, an exciting indoor cycling event, on Thursday, March 7, 2013. Hosted by Tony’s Gym in Albany, a Top 10 Spinning® Facility in the United States, the RIDE will raise funds for local cancer education, screening and other services for the residents of South Georgia.
The “Top Gun” of SPINNING, International Master Spinning® Instructor and Professional Cyclist Josh Taylor, will lead the way in his world renowned “Fighter Pilot; the Ride”. This unique Spinning experience uses thrilling video and motivating music that causes RIDERS to feel as though they truly are flying. Taylor inspires the RIDERS as they “turn and burn” like fighter pilots in a dogfight. According to local Spinning® Instructor Barbara Hoots, “All fitness levels are encouraged to participate in this ride of honor and courage. The darkened, non-competitive studio environment will allow riders to pedal at their own pace as we soar together.”
Fifty indoor cycling bikes are available for sponsorship and RIDERS must raise a minimum of $100 by March 1st to participate. However, the more money a RIDER raises, the better the bike selection and placement they will earn. Participants may choose to RIDE in honor or in memory of someone who has been affected by cancer, and acknowledgement will be incorporated into the RIDE.
“One-hundred percent of every donation stays right here in South Georgia to fight cancer,” said Cancer Coalition CEO Diane Fletcher. “We are pleased to be able to host another RIDEforHOPE. This promises to be a healthy and motivating event that gives individuals a chance to recognize people they love while raising much needed support for our local services.”
