Staff Reports
After news broke earlier today that Riverfront Barbeque would remain downtown, it would be easy to feel that maybe things were starting to turn back around for downtown. However, in an email to The Journal this evening, it was announced that another downtown business was shutting its doors for good.
Dennis Goodman, owner of the Bar Code, told the Journal that he had planned to reopen his bar this weekend. “It was suppose to reopen this weekend. Lack of support,” said Goodman in the email.
The Bar Code, formerly the sports bar known as Booters, is the latest downtown business to close its doors after The Pizza Shop and Cafe 230 had closed their doors late last year.
