YMCA announces holiday hours, New Years Day plans

Albany, Ga – The Central Facility and Lee Branch of the Albany Area YMCA will be closed on Christmas Day and will close at 2 p.m. on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve. On New Year’s Day, members and the general public are invited to the New Year’s Day Open House from 1-4 p.m. at both facilities. At the Open House, enjoy giveaways, refreshments, and televised football in the Cardio Room. Childwatch services will not be available in Albany or Leesburg on Christmas Eve, New Year’s Eve or New Year’s Day.

The Albany Area YMCA also invites members and non-members to a New Year’s Day tradition – the YMCA New Year’s Day Open House. Visit the Central Facility, 1701 Gillionville Road, or the Lee Branch, 316 Robert B. Lee Drive in Leesburg, from 1 – 4 p.m. on Tuesday, January 1, 2013. The first 103 people in the door at the Albany location will receive a free t-shirt in honor of the Y’s 103 years of serving Albany. The first 22 people in the door in Leesburg will receive a free t-shirt in honor of the Y’s 22 years of serving Lee County.

At the New Year’s Day Open House, enjoy refreshments in the lobbies and televised football in the cardio rooms. Non-members can take advantage of the No Joining Fee special. The Y is currently waiving the joining fee for enrollment now through January 1. A special fitness class sampler will be offered on January 1 at the Central Facility. This is an opportunity for members and non-members to try a variety of classes. Members and visitors are also invited to take part in a 3 v 3 Adult Basketball Tournament starting at 1:30 p.m. For more information, call the YMCA at 436-0531 or 759-9770.
