Road lanes will be closed continuously, beginning at 9 a.m. Wednesday, December 12 through 9 a.m. Friday, December 14, weather permitting, at the intersection of Broad Avenue and Front Street
The Georgia DOT has scheduled a lane closure and detour on Front Street at Broad Avenue. Contractors will be stretching, connecting and installing a new water main in this area. Because of the work involved, the roadway must be closed and traffic detoured.
The detour route will be marked with barricades and signage to direct motorists through the work zone area. Motorists on Pine Avenue will be detoured to Jackson Street, while traffic on Broad Avenue will be detoured to Washington and Jackson.
This is a WORK ZONE and extreme caution is necessary. Motorists are advised to reduce speeds as they travel through this work zone. Message signs, barrels and cones will be utilized to alert the public of the upcoming changes. Drivers should be aware that personnel and equipment will be operating in close proximity to travel lanes.
