DECATUR – The Georgia Perimeter College Lady Jaguars beat Darton State 61-54 in a GCAA matchup, Saturday.
Although the Lady Cavaliers led 30-26 at halftime, they’d only score 24 points in the second half to Perimeter’s 35.
The starting Lady Cavaliers seemed to have an “off” game Saturday, and Head Darton basketball coach Lea Henry had to look to her reserves. Freshmen Shronica Weaver and Tamarah Risher stepped up.
Weaver scored 21 points and bucketed three of five 3-pointers. The 5’8″ guard from Madison scored 9 of 16 field goal attempts and managed three rebounds.
Fisher, a 5’11″ post player out of Leon High School in Tallahassee, Fla., grabbed 6 rebounds and scored 10 points for the Lady Cavs in only 17 minutes of play.
Darton is now 10-2 overall and 6-1 in conference play.
The Lady Cavs will play Albany Technical College, Wednesday, at the Albany State University Stadium. Tip-off is set for 5:30 p.m.
