Atlanta, Ga – After a Sunday morning fire at a church under construction in Coffee County, Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner Ralph Hudgens is offering a reward of up to $10,000 for information.
“We are asking that anyone with information about this fire to please call the Georgia Arson Hotline at 1-800-282-5804,” Hudgens said. “We want to remind everyone that any information, no matter how insignificant it may seem, could be important.”
The fire, which occurred around 1:30 a.m. at the Mind of Christ of the Living God, 7031 Highway 32 West in Douglas, heavily damaged the building which was seventy-percent complete. The State Fire Marshal’s office and the Coffee County Sheriff’s Office are conducting the investigation.
Commissioner Hudgens is asking anyone with information about this fire to call the Arson Hotline at 1-800-282-5804. Rewards of up to $10,000 are given for information leading to the arrest and conviction of an arsonist. Calls are taken 24 hours a day; callers can choose to remain anonymous. The Commissioner’s Office and the Georgia Arson Control Board, Inc., sponsor the Georgia Arson Control Reward Program and the hotline.
