This performance is theband’s first concert under its new Music Director, Dr. Marc F. Boensel, DMA, assistant professor of music at Darton State College. Dr. Boensel, who joined Darton in August 2012, brings over 25 years of experience as a conductor, performer and educator, including 22 years of service in U.S. military bands.
Darton State College offers a two-year Associate of Arts degree in music and a Church Music certificate. At Darton, classes are structured so that students receive individualized instruction and a firm foundation of musical skills before transferring to a four-year institution. Darton also offers an online music program exclusively for professional military musicians. The new online music program, which began this fall, allows military musicians to study music and earn an associate of music degree at home, on base or even when transferredabroad.
