Staff Reports
Albany police are currently on the lookout for a suspect accused of robbing the Suntrust Bank at 1100 Gillionville earlier today. In an email with local media earlier today, APD media manager Phyllis Banks reported that the suspect entered the bank and handed the teller a note demanding money. Based on what Banks described as “hand gestures”, the teller believed the suspect to be armed, though there is no description of the weapon.
The suspect fled the scene with an undetermined amount of money. The suspect is described as a “black male wearing a black wind breaker type hoodie, and black pants. He is approximately 25 years old, 6’2, weighs about 160 pounds.”
Officers are canvasing the area and questioning all witnesses. If you have any information, you are asked to contact the Albany Police Department, or you can call CrimeStoppers at 436-TIPS.
