The November 6 national election results mean different things to different people. On November 12, Kiwanis Club of Dougherty County member Greg Fullerton shared some statistical insights and prognostication results from questionnaires submitted by his fellow DoCo Kiwanians. Results and trends were highlighted as well as potential effects and changes, particularly in light of the Affordable Care Act and impending “fiscal cliff” of tax hikes if Congress doesn’t take action to avoid it before January. Only 15 states have given notice they will set up health care exchanges under the ACA, Fullerton noted, (indications are that Georgia will not). Another issue is federal/state cooperation on Medicaid acceptance. Judy Varnell and Baxter Howell were revealed as the two top finishers with the most correct predictions in the prognostication contest.
