ATLANTA – ‘Twas the night before the record $500 million Powerball drawing and all through the house … someone was celebrating a $49 million Mega Millions win. Susie Qs #0001, located at 13091 U.S. Highway 319 N. in Thomasville, sold the lucky jackpot ticket.

Winning numbers from the drawing were: 5-12-26-42-49 and the Mega Ball was 24.

Mega Millions winners in Georgia have 180 days from the draw date to claim their prize.

Meanwhile, Georgians have a chance to win even bigger tonight with the historic $500 million Powerball drawing.

As with all other Georgia Lottery games, proceeds from Mega Millions will benefit education in the state of Georgia.

Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corp. has returned more than $13.8 billion to the state of Georgia for education. All Georgia Lottery profits go to pay for specific educational programs, including Georgia’s HOPE Scholarship Program and Georgia’s Pre-K Program. More than 1.4 million students have received HOPE, and more than 1.2 million 4-year-olds have attended the statewide, voluntary prekindergarten program.
