Staff Reports
They once served our nation, but now many veterans feel like they have been forgotten. However, a group of people have organized a rally slated for tomorrow to remind the people of Southwest Georgia that veterans are all around us.
In an advisory sent to local media early this morning, organizers said, “Many of these veterans speak of their frustration with the bureaucracy that stands between them and their benefits. The First Annual Veterans and Patriots Rally of South GA and surrounding areas will recognize Veterans for their sacrifices, provide information to those seeking resolution to Veteran Problems, and provide free food and entertainment for those interested in Veteran fellowship.”
The event will feature speakers such as Desert Storm veteran and GOP candidate for the US House of Representatives GA-2 seat, retired colonel John House and Rear Admiral Brian Newman, as well as form GA-2 candidate Mike Keown and Iraq War and Global War on Terror veteran, Army Specialist Lamon Logue.
The rally will be held at the corner of Highway 32 West and Highway 19 which is adjacent to Kingdom Vision Ministries at 222 GA Highway 32 West, Leesburg, GA at 2:00 pm. The Lee County High School Color Guard will present the colors
