(ALBANY) – The Darton State College women’s soccer team shutout Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College, 6-0, in a GCAA matchup at home, Friday.
Lady Cavs shutout ABAC
Darton’s Chi Chi Hikita led the scoring, banging two into ABAC’s net. Teammates Stephanie Anes, Kim Treutel and Savanah Cantrell scored one goal each. ABAC had an own goal.
But it wasn’t just Darton’s offense that lead to such a lopsided finish. The Lady Cavalier defense didn’t allow a single shot onto their goal.
“Defensively we were very solid,” head Darton women’s soccer coach Ken Veilands said. “We didn’t give up much. Offensively we possessed the ball and created a lot of opportunities and fortunately we executed them.”
With an ongoing, three-game win streak, the Lady Cavs are now 7-5-0 overall and 7-3 in conference play. They’ll face Georgia Military College at home Monday, at 5 p.m.
