Kiwanis Club of Dougherty County holds successful golf fundraiser

Six teams of linksters emerged as victors with place finishes in the 16th annual Charles H. Smith Golf Tournament at Stonebridge Country Club on October 8. Approximately 27 teams vied in the event.

The tournament, a fundraiser for the Kiwanis Club of Dougherty County, featured first-, second-, and third-place winning teams in two separate flights. Participants on each two-man team earned gift certificates for Stonebridge.

Flight 1 winners were, first place ($100 gift certificates each), Rainey Owen and Exum Miller; second place ($75 gift certificates), Andrew Dismuke and Mark Massey; and third place ($50 gift certificates), Melvin Paulk and Merlin Paulk.

Flight 2 top finishers were Chuck Roberts and Chris Glover; second-place, Chris Norman and Gerald Perry; and third place, Tommy Gay and Jimmy Taylor.

Drawing tickets to the Georgia Throwdown were won by Gwen Owen and Martha Halford.

Thirty-two prizes of merchandise and services donated by local individuals and businesses were also awarded in ticket drawings.
