Kiwanis Club of Dougherty County members and clergy from St. Patrick’s Episcopal Church enjoyed lunch together during the Kiwanis club’s annual Clergy Appreciation Day on October 22 at Hilton Garden Inn. Shown above, from left, JoAnn Wright, Father Jay Weldon, Carolyn Gay, Deacon Joy Davis, and Father Jim Bullion of St. Paul’s Episcopal, formerly of St. Patrick’s enjoy the event. Once a year, Dougherty Kiwanis members are encouraged to invite a pastor or clergyman from their church to be a guest at the club meeting. Pastors were presented a small appreciation gift and offered an opportunity to speak briefly, with several presenting humorous accounts of experiences they’ve had during their pastoral careers. Approximately a dozen churches were represented at the meeting. The appreciation day is organized by the club’s Spiritual and Human Values Committee, chaired by the Rev. Leigh Ann Raynor, senior pastor of Porterfield United Methodist Church.
