Darton Golf finishes 6th at Thomas Invite

(VALDOSTA) – The Cavaliers struggled late in the final three holes of the Thomas University Invitational golf tournament, Tuesday, falling to sixth place at Kinderlou Forest.

Shooting 297, the Cavs finished their first round Monday at a challenging third place among a pool of NAIA teams, but they had 303 strokes in the second round to slip out of the mix.
“I’m disappointed in our finish,” Darton head golf coach Bill Jones said. “We gave up about eight shots in the closing three holes, so that’s the difference between 6th and runner-up.
“We have to learn how to close the deal coming down the stretch, and we’ll be in the thick of things.”
Darton’s Taylor Martin tied for fourth place overall, shooting 74, 70 (144). Neil Graham (75, 76), Parks Brown (72, 79) and Taehyung Kim (74, 77) all tied for 20th, shooting 151.
The Cavaliers will host the Darton Fall Invitational at River Pointe Golf Club, in Albany, Monday.
