Residents on Westwood Drive in Northwest Albany found their commutes to work sidetracked as they encountered multiple police cars and an ambulance early on Tuesday morning after a driver struck a 12 year old child.

Police say that 12 year old Keturah Powe was struck around 7:15 in the 1500 block of Westwood Drive by a car driven by 23 year old Holly Hamilton.

Powe was transported by ambulance to the hospital where she was treated for a head laceration.

No charges have been filed, and the incident is still being investigated.
