ALBANYDarton State College is still the No. 1 men’s soccer team in the nation, the NJCAA announced today.
The Cavaliers have dominated the fall 2012 polls since they began on Sept. 5.
Darton has a flawless 13-0 overall record and an undefeated 8-0 record in the GCAA. In 13 games the Cavaliers have scored 51 goals, putting away an average of 3.9 goals per game.
Away matches with Middle Georgia College on Thursday and Andrew College on Oct. 16 will conclude Darton’s regular season. The Region 17 Championship Tournament, hosted by Darton, is scheduled to begin Oct.27.
Darton has already won top seeding into the tournament. Should the Cavaliers win their third consecutive Region title, they will advance to the NJCAA D-1 Men’s Soccer National Championship in November – a 12-team tournament that Darton is also hosting.
