Norma Herring Dykes, 82, of Albany, died Saturday, September 22, 2012 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital.
Mrs. Dykes’s remains will be cremated and her cremated remains will be buried at Riverside Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Mrs. Dykes’s home on Thursday, September 27, 2012 from 7-9 PM.
Mrs. Dykes was born in Albany, and she graduated from Albany High School in 1946. She was a member of the Dawson Road Church of Christ. Mrs. Dykes retired from Doherty Duggan and Rouse Insurors in 1997. She was a member of Insurance Women of Albany. She was a volunteer for many years at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital, and she enjoyed water aerobics at the YMCA. Mrs. Dykes was preceded in death by her husband, Tom Dykes and by her brother, Jimmy Daughtrey.
Mrs. Dykes is survived by her three daughters: Kathy Parrish and her husband Eddie, Lee County, Lou Dykes, Dallas, TX, Tammie Copeland and her husband Steve, Albany; 4 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren.
