(DUNWOODY) – The Darton State College women’s soccer program lost to Georgia Perimeter College, 4-2, in Dunwoody, Monday.
After a scoreless first half, Darton was able to answer a Lady Jaguar goal to tie 1-1 in the early minutes of the second half. However Georgia Perimeter scored three more consecutive goals to take a heavy lead. Darton was able to add another goal before the final whistle.
“We missed a lot of opportunities in the first half,” Darton head women’s soccer coach Ken Veilands said. “We missed a couple of breakaways.”
Darton had 12 shots on goal. The Lady Jaguars had only five.
Megan Thomas and Lauren Nelson each scored for Darton.
The Lady Cavs are now 4-5 overall and 4-3 in conference play. They’ll face conference rival Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College at 4 p.m., Wednesday, in Tifton.
